Summa, Summa, Summa-time!

TGIF!  I was off work yesterday, so my day went a little something like this:

Wake up to precious kisses from the pup.

Coffee.  Immediately.

Toodled around Pinterest and found some fab hairstyle tutorials.

Sewed some pillows and shipped them off.  I just imagine people opening up the package with such excitement and it makes my heart happy.

Proceeded to Target, TJ Maxx and JoAnn's.

Made my new summer wreath.

Got some colour.

Discovered an AMAZING new blog and I'm secretly hoping we can be besties.  She rocks my socks off!  SHINE ON!

And through Instagram, it looked a bit like this:

I got a wreath form, and 4 individual stems from JoAnn's.  I pulled the blooms off and hot glued them around my form.  It cost $17 (after using 3 coupons on my JoAnn's app!) and took all of 30 minutes!

Well, I still need to work on my tan but my fingers and toes are ready for summer with O.P.I.'s You're a Pisa Work!

Summer Lovin'

Have I mentioned how much I love these long summer days and breezy nights out on the porch with the mister?  Because I do.  I love these (sing it with me) su-ummer...ni-iiights!  Okay, I think John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John definitely said sang it better.  So, for your viewing and listening pleasure, and because Grease remains in my top favorite summer movies of all time:

I love things that remind me of summer.  A couple of those items are Banana Boat and s'mores.  I love laying by the pool all day smelling all coconuty, then everyone gathering 'round the campfire at night.  Well, we didn't get around to buying a fire pit this year, so roasting over anything other than our gas stove is out of the question.  Not to mention I'm the crazy lady running around with Clorox wipes because I don't like to get sticky.  So s'mores with melted chocolatey goodness oozing out the sides isn't exactly my cup of tea.  Never fear, S'mores-on-a-Stick are here!  That's right--bite sized chocolatey and marshmallowy goodness!  And of course, supa simple because...well, it's s'mores.

You'll need:

1 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 bag of large marshmallow puffs
handful of small pretzel sticks
1 cup of graham crackers (ground up)

Melt the chocolate of your choice (the Mr. likes Hershey's dark chocolate chips).  Make your assembly line of pretzels, marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers and start dippin'!

Let them cool for an hour or two (or overnight if you fall asleep on the couch, oops!) and enjoy!

Happy Birthday to the Mr.!

I want to wish my amazing hubby a Happy HAPPY Birthday!!  We've been together for 4 years and married for almost 4 months and I'm so blessed to be going through this journey together!

We decided to celebrate his birthday in conjunction with his dad's as well as Father's Day.  That's right, we are all about consolidation!  Since we had a lot to celebrate, we wanted to do something bigger than our normal family dinner.  Thanks to my incredible mother-in-law, she scooped up a boat rental and cabin at the beautiful Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO.  We loaded up the coolers, sunblock, and my pup, and we were off!

It was an afternoon of swimming, tubing, and skiing!  We all had so. much. fun.  I think we may have started a little summertime tradition!  The birthday boy even got up on one ski!  Here he is, making it look easy!

How hot is that?!  I am one lucky girl!  Here's me and Miss B, cheering him on from the boat!

So in a nutshell, it was a pretty good great day!  We finished it off with a trip to the Branson Landing for dinner at Cantina Laredo.  By the way, if you ever eat at this restaurant, you must leave room for dessert.  I know it's going to be hard, but do your best.  They have the most scrumptious apple pie I have ever eaten.  It's served up on a cast iron skillet with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream on the side.  When they bring it out, they pour a bourbon caramel drizzle on top that makes this the most delicious apple pie EVER.  Did I mention my hubby proposed to me one year ago this week with a piece of this pie out on the pier at the Landing?  Yep, he did.  That's how much we love this dessert.  So go, try it, and thank me later.  We headed back to the cabin for a rousing game of Canasta before bed.  The next day, we hit up Bob Evans for a hearty breakfast before heading home.  Whew, we were sun-kissed, full, and tired after a day of fun.  I can't wait to do it all again next year!  Happy Birthday Mr.!  I love you!
